Summary: The Field Services Engineer role is designed for a self-motivated individual with a passion for networking and problem-solving, focusing on conducting on-site audits and improving network setups. This position requires the candidate to have their own transport and offers a contract for approximately six months. The engineer will be responsible for assessing network conditions, documenting setups, and ensuring effective communication with project teams and third parties. Ideal candidates will possess basic networking knowledge and strong organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site audits (approx. 5 per day, location-dependent)
- Arrange and confirm site visits with contacts via phone & email
- Assess network setups, retrieve IP addresses, and document cabling
- Create simple floor plans to map equipment locations
- Identify optimal placements for future network installations
- Maintain clear communication with the project team & third parties
- Ensure smooth end-to-end site improvements, from setup to connection
Key Skills:
- A self-starter with their own car & business-use insurance
- An excellent communicator with strong organisational skills
- Basic networking knowledge (IP retrieval, cabling, etc.)
- Eligibility to work in the UK for 12 months
- Flexibility to align with third-party appointments (e.g., BT time slots)
