Summary: The Fabric Technical Architect will play a crucial role in a multi-year improvement program, focusing on solution design and technology recommendations to meet both functional and non-functional requirements. This position involves collaboration with the Core Delivery Team and the Bank's IT Architecture Team to shape project deliverables and ensure quality integration. The role requires expertise in Microsoft Fabric technologies, particularly within a financial context, and involves guiding delivery teams on solution quality and business value. The architect will also be responsible for documenting technology artifacts and presenting to the Architecture Board.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Bank's IT Architecture Team as a Core Project Team member to shape the business case/project initiation document.
  • Participate in workshops, providing quality assurance and gathering requirements to shape project deliverables.
  • Understand the Bank's As-Is Infrastructure components, including Authentication, User management, Integration, and Migration options.
  • Formulate and document project technology artefacts that articulate the desired direction of travel, including design principles, requirements, technical standards, key decisions, solution briefs, and architecture board presentations.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in choosing, designing, and implementing MS Fabric technologies in a financial organisation or consultancy.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Solution Architecture or a related SME role with a focus on financial tech.
  • Proven experience as an MS Fabric Data Architect or similar role, with a partnership with Microsoft.
  • Design expertise of the Fabric platform, including environment sizing, Dev Ops, source control, and production readiness.
  • Expertise in Medallion architecture and Lakehouse with a focus on self-service reporting and ETL.
  • Experience in creating visualisations and dashboards, as well as canned and pixel-perfect reporting.
  • Proven experience in delivering architecture through the full delivery lifecycle.
  • Strong knowledge of data dimensional modelling.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Services, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Synapse Analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with DAX, T-SQL, PowerShell, C#, and Python for analytics development.
