Summary: This role as a Financial Accountant is pivotal within the Corporate and Capital Accounting Service, focusing on compliance with capital budget reporting and year-end financial reporting. The position requires collaboration with internal teams and key stakeholders to enhance financial reporting processes and drive efficiency. The post-holder will also provide financial advice and support service development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading financial support for aspects of the capital budget, particularly in complex areas, engaging with budget holders, and resolving issues within established guidelines.
- Playing a key role in year-end capital budget and accounting procedures, ensuring deadlines are met through effective team collaboration.
- Providing financial advice and technical accounting guidance on capital expenditure.
- Developing and revising policies and procedures as necessary.
- Strengthening relationships and partnerships across finance and other directorates.
- Supporting service development by identifying and implementing new approaches to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Contributing to resource management within the capital team.
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant with current membership of one of the five CCAB bodies (ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS or Chartered Accountants Ireland) or CIMA or equivalent.
- Public Sector background.
- Demonstrate managerial experience.
- Redemption asset management (RAM) experience.
