Summary: The Environmental Advisor role focuses on providing environmental support and advice for major energy infrastructure projects in Norfolk, UK. This site-based position involves monitoring water quality, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation throughout the construction phases. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day environmental advice to the site team, including site managers, resident engineers, and HSE advisors.
  • Conduct water quality monitoring and develop, review, and maintain environmental risk assessments beyond spot checks.
  • Support planning and documentation, including the development and management of consent orders.
  • Conduct regular audits and site inspections to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and project standards.
  • Perform monthly site checks with contractors and client representatives for both offshore and onshore sites.
  • Maintain and review environmental cost registers to support project budgeting and reporting.
  • Liaise with regulators and stakeholders as needed, supporting site compliance and permitting processes.
  • Travel as needed to cover related projects.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in civil construction or environmental advisory roles, ideally with knowledge of the UK planning regimes.
  • Background in consultancy, legislative compliance, or advisory positions preferred.
  • Relevant environmental qualifications such as a degree in environmental science, or NEBOSH/IOSH certifications with at least 2 years' relevant experience.
  • PC literate with good documentation and reporting skills.
  • Valid driving license essential to support travel between sites.
  • CSCS or CCNSG certification required.

Location: Norfolk, United Kingdom (Site-based)

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 4 months (Temp to perm available)

Rate: £450 - £550 per day

Working Pattern: Ideally 5 days on site, flexible to 3 days with travel Mon/Fri

Turner Lovell is partnering with a leading developer on major energy infrastructure projects, including key onshore converter stations. This is a hands-on, site-based role providing environmental advice and support throughout civil construction and consenting phases to ensure compliance with legislation and project requirements.

As Environmental Advisor, you will be embedded within the site team, reporting to the Environmental Manager for the Southern region. You will play a crucial role in water monitoring, risk assessments, cost tracking, audits, and inspections, helping to deliver these large-scale infrastructure projects safely and sustainably.
