Summary: The Environment Health & Safety Controller role at a leading Aerospace organization in Broughton focuses on supporting the Facilities Management and Real Estate team to maintain high safety standards and compliance. The position involves conducting inspections, advising on EHS matters, and promoting safety initiatives across the organization. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to implement safety-related projects and ensure adherence to legal requirements. This position is classified as inside IR35 and operates under an umbrella contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the local FMRE team to ensure appropriate risk controls are in place for their activities and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements for new plant and work equipment and ongoing maintenance.
  • Review safety management systems of prospective FMRE contractors during pre-qualification.
  • Conduct EHS inspections on internal operations and activities by service providers, and support record-keeping and action plans.
  • Provide competent EHS advice for strategic projects through feasibility and design reviews.
  • Implement processes and conduct compliance audits to meet legal requirements, including CDM Regulations 2015 and Building Safety Act.
  • Ensure reporting and investigation of work-related incidents and implementation of remedial actions.
  • Promote EHS topics throughout the organization, including safety reviews, KPI reporting, training, and awareness campaigns.

Key Skills:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • Experience in reporting and working with stakeholders on safety projects in a dynamic environment.
  • First-hand experience of formal risk assessment and auditing techniques.
  • Relevant experience in Facilities Management, including construction and maintenance.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team with a positive attitude.
  • Understanding of the practical application of health and safety standards.
  • Proactive attitude towards professional development, with desired membership in IOSH.

Salary (Rate): £37.04
