Summary: The Enterprise Architect will define and own the technology strategy and architecture for Consumer Banking & Payments, focusing on Cards and Payment Gateways. This role involves collaborating with senior stakeholders to align business and technology goals, while delivering innovative solutions and ensuring compliance with group standards. The architect will also evaluate technology trends and lead technical investigations to support the organization's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define technology strategy, roadmaps, and vision aligned with wider Group standards.
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure technology services are customer-centric, delivering innovative and progressive products.
  • Evaluate technology trends and market changes to determine architectural impact.
  • Lead technical investigations, conduct briefings, and create proofs of concept for emerging technologies.
  • Deliver architecture services including developing domain-specific technology strategies and architectures.
  • Create target and transition architectures to enable business success.
  • Review end-to-end solutions including functional and technical designs with architectural governance.
  • Evaluate current environments to identify deficiencies and recommend resilient, scalable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with group policies, regulations, and standards.
  • Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Operations & Technology (O&T), and business teams to coordinate technology investments.
  • Manage technical debt and ensure alignment with target state architecture.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of relevant core-level technologies to serve as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Define and promote best practices and anti-patterns in technology application.

  • Ability to distil complex technical topics for non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise way.
