Summary: The Senior Wireless Network Engineer will focus on the design and delivery of Wi-Fi solutions specifically for stadium environments. This role involves comprehensive responsibilities including configuration, testing, and operational support of high-density Wi-Fi networks, while collaborating with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in wireless network engineering and demonstrate strong communication skills. The position requires hands-on experience with Wi-Fi technologies and the ability to produce detailed technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design and configuration of the Stadium Wi-Fi solution, including access point model and placement.
- Configuration and installation of Cisco products from their Stadium portfolio.
- Verify best practices for Extreme Wi-Fi device configuration in coordination with the Network Engineer.
- Oversee execution of a complete Wi-Fi signal coverage plan.
- Integrate Wi-Fi and network components into wider Enterprise grade networks.
- Contribute to High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents.
- Support and complete documentation such as Access Requests and Record-of-Change (ROC).
- Install, configure, implement, and test Wi-Fi networks according to LLD and change control documentation.
- Perform and document on-site Wi-Fi Surveys using tools such as Ekahau and Hamina.
- Carry out AP design validation and produce high-quality AP placement drawings.
- Work with electrical engineering and construction teams to create bespoke mounting solutions.
- Contribute to the overall Project Plan and perform testing and tuning validation.
Key Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Wi-Fi and network vendor equipment such as Extreme Networks, Cisco, Juniper, etc.
- Extensive experience in wireless network engineering and data communications.
- Expertise in network design and implementation, including configuration of Wi-Fi controllers and access points.
- Experience with industry survey tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of RF designs and RF propagation modeling.
- Ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation.
- Demonstrated communication and relational skills.
- Desired industry certifications such as CWNA, CWDP, CCNP (Wireless), and Ekahau Certified Survey Engineer.
