Summary: The I.C.E Laboratory Test Technician role at the University of Warwick involves supporting advanced test cell operations for internal combustion engines. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the operation of advanced test cells for internal combustion engines.
- Collaborate with engineers, academics, and third-party teams for efficient engine testing.
- Install and maintain instrumentation for accurate test results.
- Conduct maintenance activities and assist with laboratory equipment upkeep.
- Help develop test methodologies and provide technical input for customer requirements.
- Share knowledge and support team members in equipment and process familiarization.
Key Skills:
- Solid experience with internal combustion systems, including spark and compression ignition engines.
- Hands-on skills in engine disassembly, assembly, and inspection.
- Expertise in instrumentation installation and understanding of testing methodologies.
- A recognised qualification such as City & Guilds Level 3 or a full time-served apprenticeship.
- Additional skills in fabrication, welding, or machining are advantageous.
