Summary: This role for an Electronic Test Engineer involves working within a growing engineering team focused on developing marine electronics. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support engineers with prototype assembly, rework, and repair activities
  • Assist with design verification and validation, including functional and environmental testing
  • Carry out system integration, validation, and fault investigation during development phases
  • Design, build, and commission test fixtures and custom jigs to support engineering activities
  • Prepare and configure electrical, electronic, and system level test equipment
  • Support external compliance testing activities such as EMC and environmental testing
  • Accurately document test setups, procedures, results, and design verification plans for traceability and reporting
  • Maintain safe laboratory practices, including adherence to ESD controls and safety procedures

Key Skills:

  • Degree/HND/HNC in a relevant discipline (ONC/OND considered with strong demonstrable experience)
  • IPC-A-610 soldering and IPC/WHMA-A-620 cable assembly certification, or willingness to obtain
  • Computer literate with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical hand tools
  • Ability to interpret PCB schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Competence using oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, spectrum analysers, bench power supplies, and general electronic test equipment
  • Strong cross functional communication skills for working with mechanical, test, and production teams
  • Hands-on experience with prototype assembly, rework, and repair
  • Practical involvement in design verification, validation, and environmental/EMC testing
  • Experience building or commissioning test fixtures, jigs, or bespoke test setups
  • Background in laboratory based debugging, system integration, and fault investigation
  • Experience producing clear technical documentation for test procedures, setups, and results

Your duties and responsibilities will be

You will have the following qualifications & experience
