Summary: The Electrical Engineering Specialist is responsible for installing and testing electrical components and high voltage gas circuit breaker (HV GCB) equipment at client sites. This role requires practical knowledge typically gained through advanced education and work experience, with an emphasis on independent work under general supervision. The position involves complex problem-solving and influencing others through clear communication of facts and policies. The role is based at Dinorwig Power Station, Llanberis, following a 12 days on, 2 days off shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and test electrical components and HV GCB equipment.
- Perform electrical works including switchgear, protection cubicles, and panels.
- Make off cables and fit Harting plugs.
- Conduct fault finding and install/connect CT/VTs.
- Assist in GCB timing tests.
- Report to site supervisor/manager for task allocation and work sign off.
