Summary: The Electrical Engineering Placement Student role at Prodrive offers a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to engage in innovative projects within the motorsport industry. The position involves assisting in the design and development of electrical systems for various racing and road projects, providing hands-on experience alongside world-class engineers. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the design of electrical systems both on and off vehicle (harnesses, sensors, control units).
  • Creation of Zuken E3 Database components.
  • Documentation of internal engineering processes.
  • Assist with the build of development wiring harness and bench testing equipment.
  • Produce documentation (internal and customer facing) to assist with electrical installations.
  • Liaising with other departments and customers to support the build and testing of parts, systems, and vehicles.
  • Support onsite car build with troubleshooting of electrical and electronic issues, working through problems methodically.
  • Support events (Race and Rally) if required.

Key Skills:

  • Currently studying for an accredited engineering degree, preferably Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Motorsport Engineering etc.
  • Understanding of electrical systems and basic electrical concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of motorsport wiring components, tooling and build practices.
  • Basic understanding of various communication protocols such as CAN, LIN & Ethernet.
  • Fluent in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel and support cars on event or test.
