Summary: An experienced Electrical Design Engineer is sought for a contract role within a reputable building services engineering consultancy in Manchester. The position involves delivering electrical designs for various projects while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The role offers long-term engagement outside of IR35, focusing on technically challenging projects across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical building services systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, data and security systems
- Prepare technical drawings, calculations, specifications and reports
- Produce and review design documentation across various project stages
- Work collaboratively with mechanical engineers, technicians and external consultants
- Ensure designs comply with UK standards, regulations and client requirements
- Support project delivery within agreed timescales and budgets
- Participate in design reviews and technical coordination meetings
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within building services
- Strong understanding of UK building services design standards and regulations
- Experience producing electrical designs across multiple project stages
- Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, Amtech or similar tools
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative design team
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering electrical building services designs from concept through to detailed design stages.
Key Responsibilities
