Summary: The role of DevOps - Senior Consultant involves leading the response to outages, triaging issues, and maintaining communication with stakeholders. The position requires designing and implementing continuous deployment solutions to enhance software delivery for clients in government and business. Candidates must have existing SC Clearance and experience with Enterprise/Production EKS services, along with a commitment to coaching and mentoring team members. The role is based in Leeds and requires travel twice a week to Newcastle or Leeds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on responding to outages and triaging issues.
- Balance stakeholder priorities and maintain open communication channels.
- Design, develop, and implement continuous deployment solutions.
- Understand clients' ways of working and learn new tools and technologies.
- Provide support and implement automation best practices for Enterprise/Production EKS services.
- Collaborate to review specifications and design, code, test, and document programs or scripts.
- Define and design integration builds and support integration testing.
- Assess, analyze, plan, and design release packages, including risk assessment and post-release reviews.
- Provide self-service and automated solutions to accelerate application development.
- Work to GDS standards.

You’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing continuous deployment solutions that help our clients to deliver software faster and more efficiently. You’ll be keen to understand our clients’ ways of working and will have an enthusiasm to learn new tools and technologies as needed.
Essential experience DevOps Engineer with experience on running Enterprise / Production EKS services, provide support, and implement automation best practices. This includes coaching, mentoring, and supporting the team, taking responsibility for their decision-making and professional development.
Programming and Build: Collaborates with others to review specifications and uses agreed standards and tools to design, code, test, correct, and document programs or scripts of medium to high complexity
System Integration: Defines and designs the integration build, coordinates build activities, and supports integration testing
Release and Deployment: Assessment, analysis, planning, and design of release packages, including risk assessment and post-release reviews
AWS EKS Knowledge: Understanding of Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), including its control plane components, multi-tenancy features, and integration with AWS account structure and networking.
Self-Service and Automation: Ability to provide self-service and automated, repeatable solutions to accelerate application development and reduce manual effort. Must have experience working to GDS standards.
