Summary: We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines while automating infrastructure and supporting scalable systems. The role involves collaboration with software developers and cloud engineers to ensure continuous integration and delivery. Strong problem-solving and cloud expertise are essential for maintaining application reliability and performance. The position is based in Edinburgh, UK, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, test, and deployment.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
  • Manage and monitor cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) ensuring performance, availability, and scalability.
  • Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of new applications and services.
  • Improve security and compliance by implementing DevSecOps practices, vulnerability scanning, and secrets management.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in automation, deployment processes, and incident response.
  • Ensure cost optimisation of cloud resources.

Key Skills:

  • 8 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Engineering.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools: GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms: AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Solid understanding of containerisation & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
  • Experience with scripting & programming: Python, Bash, Go, or PowerShell.
  • Hands-on with monitoring & observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Splunk, Datadog.
  • Knowledge of networking, load balancers, DNS, firewalls, VPNs.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and DevSecOps approaches.

Role Objective

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure, and support scalable, secure, and resilient systems.
