Summary: The Delivery Manager for the Cybersecurity Programme will oversee the implementation of cybersecurity projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and effective management of resources. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders and the ability to manage complex project dynamics while maintaining clear communication. The position is hybrid, based in London Heathrow, and reports directly to the Programme Manager within the cybersecurity team. The successful candidate will drive project delivery and improve operational processes within the programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stand up for new cyber projects from scratch – driving structure, governance, and momentum from day one.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Engineers, and Product Owners to align delivery with business goals.
- Lead planning, tracking, and reporting using JIRA, ensuring delivery plans are clear, accurate, and kept up to date in the tool.
- Ensure all project tasks, milestones, dependencies, and ownerships are visible and actively managed in JIRA.
- Manage vendors throughout the lifecycle, including onboarding, delivery performance, and commercial engagement.
- Contribute to vendor and product selection through RFI/RFP processes.
- Raise and actively manage risks, issues, and dependencies – not just flagging them, but solving them.
- Present regular project updates at Cyber Steering Groups and to senior cyber leadership.
- Drive delivery using a pragmatic, outcome-first approach (not bound to agile or waterfall – we just want to get the job done).
- Support and guide go-live activities, working with Business Change Managers to prepare impacted stakeholders.
- Champion and improve ways of working across the programme.
- Influence senior stakeholders and present delivery options to help shape programme direction.
- Manage conflicting priorities across multiple workstreams and remain calm under pressure.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience delivering complex, cross-functional technology or cybersecurity projects.
- Hands-on experience using JIRA for project planning, tracking, and reporting – plans must be actively maintained in the tool.
- Ability to hit the ground running and structure delivery where little currently exists.
- Strong understanding of project management fundamentals, with flexibility in method (agile, waterfall, hybrid).
- Confident communicator, able to influence and challenge at all levels.
- Strong vendor and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable presenting in senior forums and acting as a key contact for delivery progress.
- Able to juggle multiple moving parts while keeping a clear focus on the end goal.
- A pragmatic problem-solver with a proactive mindset.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity is desirable but not essential – attitude and delivery discipline are key.
