Summary: The Data Technical Specialist role within the Natural Capital and Ecosystems Assessment (NCEA) programme focuses on developing automated processes for analyzing monitoring data related to the Estuarine and Coastal water environment. The position involves building analytical tools, data management solutions, and providing training to colleagues. This role is integral to enhancing the understanding of ecological outcomes through data-driven assessments. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a dispersed team while ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build analytical data tools for processing monitoring, ecological, and habitat data.
  • Develop data management solutions to support coastal monitoring networks.

  • Provide data skills training and support to colleagues.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in developing automated data integration processes in ETL applications like SAFE FME.
  • Proficiency in working with spatial data.
  • Familiarity with tools such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Enterprise, Power BI, ‘R’, SQL, and Python.
  • Ability to work well in a dispersed team and focus on quality and attention to detail.
