Summary: The Data Technical Specialist role within the Natural Capital and Ecosystems Assessment (NCEA) programme focuses on developing automated processes for analyzing monitoring data related to the Estuarine and Coastal water environment. The position requires expertise in data management and aims to enhance national assessments through innovative data tools and solutions. The role also involves providing training and support to colleagues while working collaboratively within a dispersed team. Key Responsibilities:
- Build analytical data tools to process monitoring, ecological, and habitat data for national assessments.
- Develop data management solutions to support new coastal monitoring networks.
- Create guidance and automated features for tool handover to other users.
- Provide data skills training and support to colleagues.
Key Skills:
- Experience in developing automated data integration processes in ETL applications such as SAFE FME.
- Proficiency in working with spatial data and tools like ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Enterprise, Power BI, ‘R’, SQL, and Python.
- Ability to work well in a dispersed team and deliver high-quality work with attention to detail.
- Enjoyment in working with data and aligning analysis with customer needs.
- Familiarity with Environment Agency monitoring data and systems (beneficial but not essential).
