Summary: Atrium is seeking an experienced Data Modeller to support a regulatory data transformation programme in partnership with IBM at a leading UK banking institution. The role focuses on enhancing data taxonomy, technical lineage, and data controls within critical business domains. This position offers the opportunity to engage in significant data governance and regulatory change initiatives in a complex financial environment. The role is hybrid, requiring two days per week onsite in either London or Glasgow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models across key data domains
- Support development of a unified data taxonomy and dictionary, ensuring alignment to enterprise-wide governance standards
- Contribute to technical data lineage mapping and metadata documentation
- Work closely with data architects, governance leads, and business SMEs to embed standards and controls
- Interpret regulatory data requirements and translate them into data model design
- Help assess and improve the quality, traceability, and integrity of data across systems
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Data Modeller or Data Architect within financial services
- Strong understanding of data governance, data lineage, and metadata management
- Demonstrated involvement in regulatory or risk-focused programmes (eg BCBS239, MiFID, IFRS9, GDPR)
- Familiarity with common financial data standards (eg FIBO, ISO 20022, BIAN, IBM FSDM)
- Strong stakeholder communication skills across business and technology
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, collaborative environments
- Hands-on experience with data modelling tools such as Erwin, Sparx EA, PowerDesigner, SQL DBM, etc.
- Familiarity with platforms like Collibra, Snowflake, or Azure Synapse
- Experience working in a data mesh or data product-oriented framework
