Summary: The Epic Resolute Professional Billing Consultant will lead or support the implementation lifecycle of the Epic EHR Professional Billing system, collaborating with various teams to align system configurations with business and patient care goals. The role requires expertise in Epic tools and a strong understanding of healthcare billing processes. The consultant will manage all phases of implementation, from requirements gathering to go-live support, ensuring optimal system performance and user training. This position is remote and classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of Epic EHR PB implementation including requirements gathering, design, configuration, testing, training, and go-live support.
  • Align system configuration with clinical and financial workflows to meet organizational objectives.
  • Customize and optimize the Epic EHR Professional Billing application based on stakeholder requirements and industry standards.
  • Leverage Epic utilities (Sherlock, Orion, Nova) for workflow analysis and solution development.
  • Engage with departments to understand EHR requirements and translate them into system specifications.
  • Analyze and document business processes, identify areas for process improvement and automation within the EHR framework.
  • Coordinate EHR security configurations, user role management, and data access governance.
  • Serve as the primary contact for EHR-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving technical concerns.
  • Ensure interface functionality between Epic EHR and other systems meets clinical and billing needs.
  • Implement and oversee testing processes including end-user, integration, and hardware testing.
  • Evaluate and deploy new Epic EHR module releases, system patches, and version upgrades.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve application issues and manage production support.
  • Develop training materials and lead EHR training sessions for users and trainers.
  • Support data conversion planning and validation during system upgrades or migrations.
  • Maintain updated test scripts reflecting current and future-state EHR workflows.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation and provide remote/onsite go-live support.
  • Review EHR release notes and assess impact on existing configurations, recommending necessary changes.
  • Contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing for the EHR environment.
  • Follow change management protocols and ensure quality assurance standards are met.
  • Perform related EHR support duties as assigned.

  • Epic Charge Router Certification Preferred
  • Prior experience working in an FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) environment Highly desirable
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare IT support, including 6+ months of Epic EHR user support
  • Solid understanding of healthcare billing, charge capture, and reimbursement processes
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field Preferred
