Summary: The Data Modeler role focuses on gathering and owning data modeling requirements specifically within the London Market Insurance sector. The position involves creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support enterprise data product delivery, while collaborating closely with stakeholders and data governance teams. Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and own data modeling requirements from business stakeholders.
  • Create conceptual and logical data models to build an Enterprise Data Model.
  • Develop logical and physical models to support data product delivery.
  • Collaborate with a core team of enterprise data modelers and product data modelers.
  • Work with Data Governance to align metadata with data management standards.
  • Facilitate meetings, particularly data modeling and metadata review sessions.
  • Craft concise and accurate definitions for data objects such as Concepts, Entities, and Attributes.
  • Provide consultancy for possible Data Vault implementation.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in data modeling within a business-focused insurance company, specifically London Market Insurance.
  • Significant data modeling experience.
  • Evidence of facilitation experience and strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Data Modeling layers.
  • Data Vault experience.

Data Modeller LONDON MARKET INSURANCE EXPERIENCE Birmingham Rolling 6 month contract, inside IR35 £700 - £800 a day Gather and own data modelling requirements from business stakeholders. Creation of Conceptual and Logical data models to incrementally build an Enterprise Data Model. Creation of logical and Physical models to support data product delivery Ability to work closely with a team of core team of enterprise data modelers and product data modelers Work with Data Governance Must be able to create data models via interviewing key stakeholders, not just requirements documents Ability to look for patterns to find ways to add abstraction and extensibility to the data models to enable reusable model components and accelerators and reduce duplication of effort Work closely with the office of the CDO and our Data Governance partners to align metadata with our data management standards via continuous communication and feedback Facilitation of meetings, especially data modeling and metadata review sessions Ability to craft concise and accurate definitions for data object such as Concepts, Entities, and Attributes.
