Summary: FDM is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a 12-month hybrid contract in Manchester, focusing on the finance sector. Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyse data from various sources to produce rich data visualisations to support business decision-making
- Develop, maintain, and manage reporting solutions, including dashboards and regular reports
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all reports and dashboards
- Design, implement, and maintain data solutions to ensure optimal performance and data integrity
- Develop and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions
- Monitor database performance, implement changes when required
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and provide tailored solutions
- Ensure seamless integration of data solutions with existing systems and processes
- Train and support end-users on database and reporting tools
- Collaborate with Technical and Business teams across the Group to ensure data security and compliance
Key Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Data Engineering role, ideally in the bank sector
- Experience working with telephony platforms and a strong understanding of IVR (Interactive Voice Response) and related business processes
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP); familiarity with ICP, Azure, or other cloud services
- Demonstrated background as a Database Engineer, Data Analyst, or in a similar technical role
- Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database technologies, with the ability to write complex queries and optimise performance
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data pipeline development
- Experience using data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms to present insights to stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques for both structured and unstructured data
- Familiarity with cloud-native data tools and services (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Azure Synapse)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and develop scalable solutions for complex data issues
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders
- Strong team player with a collaborative mindset, comfortable working in cross-functional teams

Our client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high quality data products and reporting solutions for the client’s telephony applications.
