Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide resilience for clients' quarterly and responsible investing reports and disclosures.
  • Develop quarterly reporting data management to increase automation using the Opus Nebula platform.
  • Implement and oversee data governance, ensuring accuracy, availability, and consistency of Brunel data.
  • Assist in developing a data management, support, and governance framework, defining SLAs and managing escalations.
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships across the business and with third-party data providers.
  • Act as a business partner for key projects, embedding data architecture requirements into solution designs.
  • Support data owners and operators in achieving their goals.
  • Monitor internal controls related to data governance and highlight risks and opportunities.
  • Potentially support other client reporting data provisions, including year-end audits.

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Data Management role within financial services, preferably in Asset Management.
  • Understanding of Listed and ideally Private Markets investment information, particularly accounting and performance data.
  • Experience using and/or implementing client reporting platforms, particularly data feeds for investments.
  • Familiarity with data modelling, management, and governance principles.
  • Experienced in designing and implementing end-to-end data reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with Master Data Management processes to support data quality.
  • Knowledge of database languages such as SQL.
  • Interest in RI/ESG reporting practices and principles.
  • Proficient in MS Office packages, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ideally a relevant degree, such as Computer or Data Science.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Embracer of diversity and responsible investment.

Position

Brunel Pension Partnership Limited (Brunel) is looking for a Data Manager to provide cover for paternity leave on a 6-month fixed term basis . The role will continue efforts to operationalise our strategy, working closely with data owners in the business and third-party vendors who will provide the platforms, data sets and associated specialists. The focus of the role will be on quarterly reporting, data governance, data controls and business partnering and may be required to cover some reporting responsibilities. Focus will be on investments data across a wide range of asset classes and working with third parties who typically provide platforms and assured data sets.

This opportunity is for a 6-month Fixed Term Contract.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide resilience for the clients quarterly and responsible investing reports and disclosures
  • Develop quarterly reporting data management to increasing levels of automation, using the Opus Nebula platform
  • Implement and oversee data governance, building the structure and processes that ensure the accuracy, availability and consistency of Brunel data
  • Assist the development of a data management, support and governance framework, defining and agreeing SLAs, overseeing the resolution of issues and managing escalations
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships across the business and with third party data and platform providers
  • Act as business partner for key projects, ensuring data architecture requirements are embedded into the design of any solutions.
  • To work with data owners and data operators to support them in their goals
  • Support the internal control environment by monitoring of controls relating to data governance and highlighting risks & opportunities
  • Potentially to support other client reporting data provisions, including year-end audits

Bespoke Requirements for this role:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Data Management role within financial services, preferably in Asset Management
  • Understanding of Listed (and ideally Private Markets) investment information, particularly accounting and performance calculated data
  • Experience of using and/or implementing client reporting platforms, particularly the supply of data feeds for investments and the tools/vendor that utilise and produce this (e.g. Opus Nebula)
  • Familiarity with data modelling, data management and data governance principles and practises
  • Experienced in designing and implementing end to end data reconciliations
  • Familiarity in Master Data Management, developing and overseeing the processes necessary to support data quality
  • Ideally a background knowledge of database languages such as SQL
  • Familiarity with or interest in RI/ESG reporting practises and principles
  • Experience of working in framework delivering system enhancements, eg development lifecycles
  • Proficient in MS Office packages, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ideally a relevant degree, such as Computer or Data Science
