Summary: The role of Data Centre Project Manager involves overseeing commercial and industrial construction projects from pre-construction to completion, ensuring they meet safety, budget, and quality standards. The position requires strong leadership and organizational skills to coordinate various teams and stakeholders effectively. The manager will also be responsible for compliance with regulations and identifying cost-saving opportunities throughout the project lifecycle. This is a contract position classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of construction projects, including new builds, refurbishments, and fit-outs
  • Coordinate internal project teams, site managers, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and key stakeholders
  • Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, risk registers, and resource plans
  • Oversee design coordination, technical submissions, and project documentation
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations, specifications, and health & safety legislation
  • Monitor project progress, manage variations and change control processes
  • Oversee quality control, commissioning activities, and final handover to the client
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, value engineering, and programme efficiencies

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience managing construction projects within commercial and/or industrial sectors
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building regulations, and site operations
  • Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontract packages
  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Strong commercial awareness, including cost management, procurement, and contract administration
  • Qualifications (Preferred): Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) – desirable
  • SMSTS, CSCS (Black/White Card), or equivalent certification
