Summary: The Data Analyst - Financial Data Analytics role involves producing and managing project financial data for a leading financial services organization. The position requires expertise in data processing models, data visualization, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure data integrity and effective reporting. The role offers flexible hybrid working arrangements, with an expectation of two days in the London office. Candidates must possess strong analytical skills and experience in financial management within a regulated industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analysing, documenting and continuously improving the process for production of project financial data
- Working with stakeholders to document and prioritise desired outcomes
- Collection, cleaning and analysis of project data sets (both financial and non-financial)
- Developing and maintaining dashboards, reports and visualisations to communicate insights
- Automating data processes and reporting to improve efficiency
- Ensuring data integrity and accuracy through validation and quality control methods
- Collaboration across Technology, Finance, HR and project teams to optimize project data infrastructure
- Preparation of Forecast/Actuals data
- Detailed monthly financial analysis (including validation of time booking)
- Manipulation of data from multiple sources to produce actionable insights and report production
- Driving action to reduce future variances with Key stakeholders
- Oversight and management of Project Purchase Orders
- Co-ordinating the quarterly financial reforecast process
- Co-ordinating the financial component of Business Case Submission
- Ensuring defined project financial governance standards are adhered to
- Management of project and program stakeholders including wider Technology Stakeholders and 3rd Parties
- Identification, definition and evaluation of Financial Risks
- Production of Management Information and Reporting
Key Skills:
- At least 4 years of experience in a data analysis or Business Intelligence role
- Advanced skills in Excel
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Experience with Data visualisation tools including Power BI
- Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical analysis
- Previous experience in Financial Management roles (eg Project Accounting, Financial Controller etc.) desirable
- Previous experience working within a highly regulated industry (ideally Banking)
- Knowledge of Financial Services Industry desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to prioritise to meet deadlines
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Ability to lead where necessary (eg individual stakeholder sessions, group workshops etc.)
