Summary: The Cyber Security Architect - Threat Modeling role focuses on safeguarding advanced automotive technologies through robust security measures in cloud and digital services. This position requires expertise in threat modeling and cloud security, particularly within AWS environments, to protect connected vehicle functionalities. The role involves collaboration with development teams to identify vulnerabilities and implement security best practices. It is a 10-month contract requiring 2/3 days a month in the Manchester office, paying £500 a day inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for threat modelling across cloud-powered vehicle connectivity platforms.
  • Develop and refine threat models for mobile integrations, over-the-air updates, and digital vehicle services.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and integrate security best practices throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Lead the implementation of cloud security best practices — including authentication, security groups, PKI, and AWS security controls.
  • Act as the primary security advisor, guiding engineering teams to design and deploy resilient, scalable, and secure cloud architectures.
  • Champion a security-first mindset, upskilling teams and embedding security considerations at every stage of development.

Key Skills:

  • Proven expertise in cloud security, particularly within AWS environments (authentication, PKI, security groups, etc.).
  • Strong experience in threat modelling, including identifying and addressing vulnerabilities in complex, cloud-based ecosystems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with development and security teams.

Salary (Rate): £500
