Summary: The role of Contracts Manager involves overseeing strategic Term Service Contracts related to mechanical and electrical repair and compliance for a large local government organization. The position focuses on managing the Gas Servicing and Repairs contract for 17,000 dwellings and ensuring high service delivery and value for money. The ideal candidate will possess relevant qualifications and extensive experience in contract management and procurement within the public sector. This is a 3-month contract with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage strategic Term Service Contracts for mechanical and electrical repair and servicing.
- Oversee the Gas Servicing and Repairs contract for HRA stock and corporate assets.
- Ensure contracts are procured and managed effectively, delivering high service quality and value for money.
- Continuously seek service improvements in contract management.
- Develop scope of service documentation and evaluate bids in compliance with Public Procurement Regulations.
- Monitor and control significant budgets to ensure services are delivered within financial constraints.
- Provide professional advice on statutory requirements and assess the quality of works.
- Maintain excellent knowledge of relevant legislation and technical guidance.
Key Skills:
- Relevant property-related degree in a building or technical subject area.
- Chartered Member or working towards a professional body such as RICS/CIBSE/CIOB.
- Excellent technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience in managing strategic service contracts, preferably with NEC4 knowledge.
- Proficient in procurement processes and contract management.
- Strong budget management and cost control skills.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and technical guidance.
