Summary: The Cloud Security Engineer at FDM will lead cloud security initiatives for clients in the consulting sector, focusing on strategic and tactical security measures. This hybrid role involves collaboration with various departments to integrate security into cloud operations and infrastructure. The engineer will also mentor the security engineering team and ensure compliance with industry standards while staying updated on emerging threats. This position is initially a 6-month contract with potential for extension, based in either Bristol or Edinburgh.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the cloud security vision and strategy across the organisation
  • Support the design and deployment of robust cloud security solutions, primarily in Azure
  • Support the Security Operation Centre in monitoring, detection, and response activities related to cloud security incidents
  • Foster strong relationships with internal teams, integrating security practices into workflows and DevOps pipelines
  • Work with the InfoSec team to assess cloud infrastructures for compliance with industry standards
  • Stay updated on emerging threats and trends in cloud security
  • Mentor and develop the wider security engineering team
  • Ensure cross-platform cloud security is maintained in line with company requirements
  • Escalate areas where risk is managed outside of the company risk appetite

Key Skills:

  • 5 years of experience in cloud security, with a strong focus on Azure
  • Azure Security Engineer Associate certification or similar
  • Proficient knowledge of cloud architecture and security concerns
  • Exposure to AWS environments and services
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring security solutions
  • Strong understanding of security protocols, encryption, and authentication methods
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Salary (Rate): £65,000.00
