What you'll be doing As a Civil Engineer Summer Placement, you’ll support various civil engineering tasks whilst gaining hands-on experience. You'll be offered the opportunity to explore the field of civil engineering and learn practical skills, engineering concepts such as design techniques and project management skills, and how to work on a team.
Who we're looking for Our Summer Placements are targeted at university students, offering an 8- to 12-week programme during the summer break. This placement provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build professional skills early in your academic journey. We're open to hosting individuals who have completed their 1st, 2nd or 3rd year of a Civil Engineering BEng. Our vision is that you will have the opportunity to settle into a Balfour Beatty project, learning from those around you, with the chance to make a really positive impact in your short time with us. We may hope to invite you back as a Summer Placement until the end of your course, with the hope you may join us as a Graduate Civil Engineer on successful completion of your placements and course.
