Summary: The Civil Engineer role focuses on delivering engineering solutions for Onshore Wind and Hydrogen projects within the Central Technical Organisation. The position involves managing civil design and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards. The role requires collaboration with multi-discipline teams and external parties throughout the project lifecycle. This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension, primarily remote with occasional site visits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise on Civil specification and design activities for Onshore Wind projects, ensuring deliverables align with timelines and budgets.
- Develop scope of works and liaise with external parties for pre-works information acquisition in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Create Civil technical specifications for tender documentation and assessments across Balance of Plant work packages.
- Conduct technical reviews of tender submissions and manage works according to EDF requirements.
- Ensure operational learning and lifetime cost optimization during the design and construction of Civil infrastructure.
- Manage Civil engineering design activities and assist in producing infrastructure designs using tools like AutoCAD and GIS.
Key Skills:
- Experience in development, design, and construction of power generation projects, particularly Onshore Wind in the UK.
- Understanding of Civil Engineering solutions from feasibility to detailed engineering designs.
- Minimum a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Working knowledge of Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations and Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
- Full clean driving licence.
