Summary: The Childcare Paralegal role involves providing legal support within a London Borough Council, focusing on sensitive childcare cases. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist solicitors with the preparation of court bundles, statements, and other legal documentation for childcare proceedings.
- Liaise with courts, counsel, external solicitors, and other agencies to progress cases efficiently.
- Undertake legal research and draft documents under supervision.
- Attend court and tribunal hearings alongside fee earners or counsel when required.
- Support on high-profile and complex safeguarding matters.
- Manage communications and case-related administration in line with council policies.
Key Skills:
- Experience working in a legal environment, ideally within childcare, family, or safeguarding law.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work sensitively on cases involving vulnerable individuals.
- Proficient in drafting legal documents and conducting legal research.
