Summary: The role of Chief Architect in Insurance involves leading a significant digital transformation within a large-scale insurance environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Rebuild the architecture function from scratch, defining governance, structure, and leadership across the domain
- Define and drive architecture strategy for major technology transformation programmes
- Lead the redesign and replatforming of core business systems to cloud-native solutions
- Guide the migration of Legacy systems onto Oracle-based platforms where applicable
- Focus on breaking down Legacy, internally developed platforms and rebuilding for scale and agility
- Work closely with consulting partners and an established internal architecture team
- Align technology decisions with long-term business and operational goals
Key Skills:
- Chief architect or Head of level with extensive experience in enterprise and solution architecture
- Proven capability in standing up or rebuilding architecture functions in complex environments
- Deep understanding of system modernisation, cloud architecture, and platform strategy
- Strong track record delivering transformation in regulated and Legacy-heavy organisations
- Experience with Oracle platform transitions is highly desirable
- Experience working with or modernising custom-built policy administration or business-critical systems
- Confident working with executive stakeholders and influencing technical direction

A leading insurance client is undergoing a large-scale digital transformation and is looking for a Chief Architect or Head of level with experience of working in large scale insurance environments.
This is a pivotal role reporting directly into C-level leadership, responsible for rebuilding the architecture function from the ground up - establishing structure, standards, and technical direction across a newly forming capability. Alongside that, the role will lead core platform modernisation and cloud transformation, including the re-architecture and migration of foundational systems - with particular focus on policy administration modernisation and a transition from Legacy internal systems to Oracle-based platforms.
