A leading insurance client is undergoing a large-scale digital transformation and is looking for a Chief Architect or Head of level with experience of working in large scale insurance environments.

This is a pivotal role reporting directly into C-level leadership, responsible for rebuilding the architecture function from the ground up - establishing structure, standards, and technical direction across a newly forming capability. Alongside that, the role will lead core platform modernisation and cloud transformation, including the re-architecture and migration of foundational systems - with particular focus on policy administration modernisation and a transition from Legacy internal systems to Oracle-based platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rebuild the architecture function from scratch, defining governance, structure, and leadership across the domain
  • Define and drive architecture strategy for major technology transformation programmes
  • Lead the redesign and replatforming of core business systems to cloud-native solutions
  • Guide the migration of Legacy systems onto Oracle-based platforms where applicable
  • Focus on breaking down Legacy, internally developed platforms and rebuilding for scale and agility
  • Work closely with consulting partners and an established internal architecture team
  • Align technology decisions with long-term business and operational goals

What We're Looking For:

  • Chief architect or Head of level with extensive experience in enterprise and solution architecture
  • Proven capability in standing up or rebuilding architecture functions in complex environments
  • Deep understanding of system modernisation, cloud architecture, and platform strategy
  • Strong track record delivering transformation in regulated and Legacy-heavy organisations
  • Experience with Oracle platform transitions is highly desirable
  • Experience working with or modernising custom-built policy administration or business-critical systems
  • Confident working with executive stakeholders and influencing technical direction
  • Able to start within 4 weeks

This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior strategic role at the heart of a business-critical transformation, shaping the future-state architecture for a complex and evolving tech environment.
