Summary: The role of Carpenter involves undertaking carpentry repairs, installations, and maintenance work within the RG postcode areas, specifically in a social housing environment. The position requires a self-employed individual to deliver high-quality building services while ensuring compliance with safety standards and effective communication with team members. The successful candidate will work 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, and will be provided with necessary tools and equipment. The contract is expected to last until the end of 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and undertake carpentry and associated work as directed.
- Carry out multi-skill activity as required and within competency.
- Liaise with other employees to complete specified works.
- Ensure productivity levels and work within required timescales.
- Receive, plan, and complete job orders on time and to quality.
- Process relevant documentation and complete systems in a timely manner.
- Conduct work in accordance with current legislation and standards.
- Use information systems and technology effectively.
- Undertake essential reinstatement work as necessary.
- Maintain and account for vehicle stocks.
- Proactively ensure health and safety for themselves and others.
- Report any hazards or unsafe practices to supervisors.
- Inspect tools and equipment, reporting any defects.
- Act professionally and ensure safety procedures are followed.
- Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
Key Skills:
- Experience of reactive repairs in a social housing/residential setting.
- Carpentry skills for installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Carpentry qualification at NVQ2 or equivalent.
- Full UK Driving License with no more than 3 points.
- Recent DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
