Summary: The CAE Developer - Virtual Build role at a premium automotive brand involves developing code to automate processes within the Propulsion CAE team, enhancing efficiency and quality. The position requires collaboration with development engineers and analysts to compile both geometric and non-geometric data while identifying automation opportunities. The successful candidate will also be responsible for creating training materials and user guides for the CAE team. This is a contract position based in Coventry, classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and compile Non Geometric and Geometric Data using in-house CAD Software.
- Identify opportunities to automate processes and build required KPIs.
- Develop code to convert manual efforts into automation, improving speed and quality.
- Support methods reviews and contribute ideas for process improvements.
- Create training materials and user guides for CAE team members.
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by the line manager.
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, VB, Java, Simulink, and Matlab.
- Good understanding of CAD software 3DX CATIA.
- Strong MS Excel skills.
- Ability to adapt and understand new technology areas.
- Effective communication skills.
- Understanding of propulsion systems (preferred).
- Knowledge of materials and material properties (preferred).
- Awareness of EDU, HV charging systems, Electrical, and Mechanical concepts (preferred).
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI (preferred).
