Summary: The System Administrator for Standing Naval Forces is responsible for the transfer and operational setup of deployed CIS installations on NATO flagships. This role involves providing remote support, managing system administration tasks for hardware and software, and ensuring the maintenance of technical documentation. The position requires physical work on deployed warships and necessitates NATO Secret security clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transfer and set to work of deployed CIS installations during operational handover of NATO flagships.
- Provide remote support to flagships involved in Standing Naval Forces.
- Assist with day-to-day system administration of hardware and software, including MS Windows Server and VMware virtualization technology.
- Manage Active Directory Services, DNS, and DHCP servers.
- Administer Storage Area Network (SAN) and perform routine backups as per SLA and SOPs.
- Maintain technical and service-oriented documentation for assigned systems.
- Collaborate with other technicians and engineers within the CSU and NCI Agency.
Key Skills:
- NATO Secret security clearance.
- Knowledge and practical experience in VMware virtualization technology.
- Experience in configuring iSCSI targets for virtualized environments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Server Technologies, including Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange.
- Understanding of ITIL IT service management model.
- Ability to write technical documentation and user guides.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and customer focus.
