Summary: The Buyer (Aluminium & Pipes) role involves managing strategic relationships and overseeing contract management within a leading aerospace organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage strategic aluminium (extrusion) suppliers across a global supply base
- Lead or support multi-functional project teams, ensuring delivery across time, cost, and quality
- Run full-cycle contract management including supplier selection, tender processes, negotiations, and change control
- Oversee the end-to-end Aluminium ConBid process, including demand monitoring, allocation optimisation, and risk mitigation
- Act as a key link between engineering, commercial, and procurement teams
- Conduct supplier reviews and participate in development plans to drive performance and efficiency
Key Skills:
- Background in buying or supply chain management, ideally within a complex or engineering-led environment
- Strong technical understanding of aluminium, metals, or materials, with confidence in reading and interpreting specifications
- Experience working with international suppliers and navigating global procurement challenges
- Proficient in SAP, particularly in managing supplier or procurement data
- Comfortable managing multiple stakeholders across complex organisational structures
- Solid contract management experience, including tendering, negotiations, and compliance
