Summary: The Business Architect role focuses on delivering robust and scalable solutions in core banking, specifically in current account journeys and lending. The position requires collaboration with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic technology roadmaps while maintaining regulatory compliance. The architect will lead the design of end-to-end architecture and support the organization's long-term growth. This is a contract position based in Knutsford, requiring on-site presence for 2-3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead solution and technical architecture for loans, current and savings accounts, and related operational platforms.
- Design and deliver scalable, resilient, and secure solutions aligned with enterprise strategies.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and project managers to translate business needs into actionable technical designs.
- Define integration patterns and maintain current and target state architecture.
- Advise on appropriate technologies and challenge vendor proposals to ensure alignment with strategy.
- Support innovation and cost-effective design decisions while mitigating risk.

- Deep understanding of core banking systems.
- Strong grasp of risk management within architectural design and delivery.
- Awareness of banking cost drivers and ability to design cost-effective solutions.

This role will partner closely with senior business stakeholders across multiple workstreams to deliver robust, scalable, and secure solutions that align with strategic technology roadmaps.
You'll take a lead role in shaping end-to-end architecture, ensuring systems are resilient, regulatory-compliant, and support the organisation's long-term growth.
