Summary: We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst for a 6-month contract role based in Telford, requiring on-site work for two days per week. The position involves supporting a high-profile public sector project focused on business and digital transformation initiatives. The role demands collaboration with stakeholders to analyze business needs and develop comprehensive documentation. This position is classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with stakeholders across the public sector to identify and analyze business needs.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to gather and document business requirements.
  • Develop detailed business process models, user stories, and functional specifications.
  • Conduct gap analysis, impact assessments, and feasibility studies to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, and solution architects to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.
  • Support the development of business cases and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Work within an Agile and/or Waterfall project environment, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Develop and maintain key project documentation, including BRDs (Business Requirements Documents), process flows, and impact assessments.
  • Engage in stakeholder management, ensuring clear communication and managing expectations throughout the project life cycle.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to ensure solutions meet business requirements.

Key Skills:

  • Public Sector Experience - Strong background working in government or public sector organizations.
  • Business Analysis Expertise - Proven ability to gather, document, and analyze business requirements effectively.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Experience liaising with senior stakeholders, gathering requirements, and managing expectations.
  • Process Mapping & Improvement - Ability to document current and future state processes and recommend improvements.
  • Agile & Waterfall Methodologies - Experience working within structured project frameworks.
  • Technical Awareness - Understanding of digital transformation, IT systems, and data analysis.
  • Strong Documentation Skills - Ability to create clear and concise documentation, including BRDs, process flows, and functional specs.
