Summary: The Business Analyst / Product Owner will support an engineering team in a large-scale modernization program, focusing on backlog management, requirements definition, and stakeholder alignment. This role is essential for ensuring efficient delivery and facilitating the migration of services to a modern cloud architecture. The position requires collaboration with both UK and offshore teams to streamline processes and enhance delivery predictability. The contract is for 6 months and is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for requirements clarification, backlog organisation, and story refinement.
- Manage, prioritise, and maintain the product backlog to ensure sprint readiness.
- Work directly with engineering teams (UK and offshore) to provide clear acceptance criteria, user stories, and requirement definitions.
- Support cross-team alignment where features or changes have dependencies across domains.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, refinement sessions, and reviews.
- Work with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable work items that developers can deliver efficiently.
- Provide support in interpreting domain-specific rules and policies, especially those embedded in the custom metadata-driven forms and business rules engine.
- Coordinate with QA teams to ensure stories meet acceptance and compliance requirements.
- Maintain consistent communication with product, architecture, and engineering stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery flow.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, sprint predictability, and team throughput.
Key Skills:
- Experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner in an Agile environment.
- Strong understanding of backlog management and sprint readiness.
- Ability to work with engineering teams to define clear acceptance criteria and user stories.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies.
