Summary: The role of Business Analyst - Finance involves supporting a global systems transformation programme for a leading FMCG brand, focusing on financial processes, data analytics, and reporting. The position requires gathering and documenting finance-related business requirements while ensuring compliance with UK financial regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyse business requirements related to financial processes across Retail, Food & Beverage, and Events, ensuring alignment with overall programme objectives.
- Quickly understand complex financial processes, including reconciliation, reporting, and audit requirements, mapping them out and identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with implementation partners, developers, SMEs, and finance teams to ensure clarity and feasibility of requirements.
- Act as a key liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring that financial business needs are effectively translated into functional requirements.
- Take full ownership of finance-related business analysis deliverables, driving requirements gathering sessions, documentation, and validation processes.
- Work within an agile delivery framework, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and user story development.
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of finance-related business analysis outputs, maintaining alignment with key milestones.
- Support testing and validation efforts by defining acceptance criteria and participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Provide clear and structured communication to stakeholders, proactively identifying risks and potential roadblocks.
- Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations, audit requirements, and best practices in financial data reporting.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Finance Business Analyst within large-scale hospitality projects, specifically in Retail, Food & Beverage, and Events.
- Strong ability to elicit and document finance-related business requirements, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in financial reconciliation, reporting, and audit processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- A strong sense of ownership, ensuring accountability for deliverables and project milestones.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, including experience working within Scrum teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with multiple competing priorities.
- Experience working with implementation partners, developers, and SMEs to bridge business and technical needs.
- Proficiency in financial systems, data analysis tools, and business analysis platforms such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, or similar.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP and financial integrations involving SAP.
