THE OPPORTUNITY
A Revit based firm located in the KGW (Ontario) region, involved with mid to high-rise projects (8-35F), seeks an experienced Architectural Job Captain to join its leadership team. You will report to the Architect PM and President. This is a vital role with a good bonus, requiring someone entrepreneurial and confident, capable with site visits and design compliance. You have at least 2+ years experience doing field reports on complex mixed-use residential projects; handling change orders & value engineering. You can anticipate design issues and know how to deal with headstrong site supers and PMs. The firm is open to hiring a nearly fully licensed OAA Intern or Senior Architectural Designer as Team Lead, contingent on the candidate having significant hands-on experience overseeing complex mixed-use residential projects in the GTA. They are also open to relocating the right candidate from Toronto. if required.
What They Need
- Someone with a Bachelor's of Architecture, Master of Architecture or architectural technology diploma from an accredited institution
- 6+ years of leading complex residential (8-35F) projects; strong Revit skills
- Strong OBC skills related to mid to high rise projects; good building science skills; preference for PMP certification or candidates who have completed contract administration courses
- Candidate proficient juggling Revit projects; who has produced a set of quality drawings: floor plans, elevations, building & wall sections; section details that meet code compliance; oversee and markup others drawings
- A Revit Portfolio of complex (8-35F) residential projects (not custom homes or townhomes); a Project Sheet of least multiple projects within Ontario that you have been involved with
- Candidate experienced with site visits, leading coordination meetings, redlining drawings, submitting proposals; providing technical solutions throughout design and construction phases; dealing multiple consultants including structural and HVAC engineers, and others
- Excellent negotiation skills; the ability to anticipate problems; trouble shooter acting as a main liaison between the firm and clients
- Software: Revit (5+ years on-the job use), AutoCAD, Wrike, Microsoft Project & Photoshop
- Car with a valid G driver's license; willingness to commute to job sites as requires
