Summary: This role involves working as a Patient Services Administrator within the Dental Community Services at Birmingham Community Healthcare Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will manage reception duties, patient bookings, and administrative tasks to enhance patient experience, particularly for paediatric and special care patients. The position requires collaboration with clinicians and nurses in a multidisciplinary team environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Dental Reception cover for community dental service clinics.
  • Manage patient inquiries through email and telephone communication.
  • Support clinical teams with administrative tasks and prepare clinical notes.
  • Handle patient payments and manage appointment bookings, cancellations, and rescheduling.
  • Participate in daily team huddles and specialty meetings.
  • Ensure accurate data inputting of clinic activity onto relevant systems.
  • Liaise with patients regarding appointments and manage waiting lists.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Provide general non-clinical information to patients while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Participate in annual appraisals and mandatory training.

Key Skills:

  • GCSE/CSE level C or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
  • RSA 2 or equivalent in typing or word processing.
  • Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration or equivalent administrative experience.
  • Previous administrative experience and experience working with the public.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel between clinics as required.
  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle (desirable).
