We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to take charge of the management and optimization of our growing pool of test devices within our device lab. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on technology enthusiast to work closely with cross-functional teams on regular release testing, comprehensive root cause analysis, and to ensure the health and efficiency of our CI agent pool. You will play a key role in the ongoing development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for a variety of hardware devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the integration of devices, ensuring they are flashed, configured, and kept up to date.
  • Collaborate with the team on release testing, device health monitoring, and root cause analysis across various hardware architectures.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines tailored for diverse hardware devices, ensuring high reliability and performance.
  • Proactively identify issues and implement solutions to maintain a smooth testing and integration process.
  • Troubleshoot and manage Windows systems, BIOS flashing, and bootloaders.
  • Maintain, update, and support a growing device pool (currently 90 devices, with 40-50 more expected in the coming months).
  • Automate tasks and apply non-standard solutions where necessary, particularly where off-the-shelf solutions are unavailable.
  • Work closely with the team to develop strategies for keeping devices healthy and ensuring they remain functional for ongoing testing and deployment.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience managing Windows systems, including flashing BIOS and using bootloaders.
  • Proficient in at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python).
  • A self-driven, proactive problem solver who can work independently.
  • Experience with Git, continuous integration, and other collaboration tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools such as Selenium is desirable.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and an aptitude for tackling complex technical challenges.
  • Comfortable working onsite at our Reading office every day.

Desirable Attributes:

  • A strong desire to automate processes and optimize device management.
  • The ability to think outside the box and implement non-standard solutions for unique challenges.
  • Motivation to ask questions and seek out the missing pieces of information to drive improvements.

If you're an enthusiastic DevOps Engineer who thrives in a hands-on role and loves solving problems with technology, we'd love to hear from you. Join us and be part of a dynamic team pushing the boundaries of device testing and continuous integration!
