Summary: The AWS Cloud Platform Engineer role at World Wide Technology involves maintaining and extending a Python and Java codebase for automated provisioning of AWS accounts and infrastructure. The position requires significant systems integration experience and a strong background in cloud technologies, particularly AWS. The role is contract-based for six months and requires on-site presence two days a week in London. Candidates should possess a few years of experience in platform engineering with a focus on automation and integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and extend a Python and Java codebase for AWS account provisioning.
- Automate the provisioning and maintenance of AWS accounts and infrastructure.
- Integrate systems within the organization beyond just cloud services.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Utilize API servers and RESTful services for system interactions.
- Implement database models using ORM with SQL Alchemy on MySQL.
- Interface between AWS infrastructure and external systems using APIs.
Key Skills:
- Experience with Python and Java programming.
- Knowledge of API servers using REST (Swagger, OpenAPI).
- Familiarity with Python Flask REST API consumer models.
- Experience with asynchronous system interactions using Python Celery, RabbitMQ, and/or Airflow.
- Understanding of AWS services including VPC, IAM, Route 53, Load Balancer, EC2, and EKS.
- Experience with AWS CloudFormation and knowledge of Terraform and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in code control procedures using Git.
- AWS Practitioner or Solution Architect certification is desirable.
