Senior Network Engineer

Summary: The role of Senior Network Engineer involves supporting a critical enterprise network for a leading Financial Services organization on a 6-month remote contract. The position requires strong experience in network maintenance and operational support within complex global infrastructures. The ideal candidate will thrive in a Business as Usual (BAU) environment while ensuring the stability and performance of network services. Key responsibilities include managing network incidents and maintaining security protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain Cisco (Nexus 3K/9K), Aruba switches, and MPLS networks.
• Ensure the stability and performance of LAN/WAN and VPN services across the estate.
• Leverage tools like SolarWinds (NPM/NTA), Cisco Prime, and others to proactively detect and resolve issues.
• Manage and resolve network incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Maintain and support security using Fortinet, Palo Alto (Panorama), and Cisco firewall technologies.

Key Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking (routing, switching), WAN tech, and firewalls.
• Proficiency with network monitoring tools – SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, etc.
• Experience with Fortinet, Palo Alto, Aruba, HPE, and Cisco Nexus equipment.
• Solid understanding of MPLS, VPNs, LAN/WAN, and network security best practices.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and structured change management.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive mindset.
• Experience working in Financial Services or large-scale global environments.
• Exposure to SD-WAN solutions is advantageous.
