Summary: The Automation Process Engineer role at LNER involves designing and implementing automation solutions using Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and No/Low Code tools, particularly UiPath and Microsoft Power Platform. The position is integral to the Automation Centre of Excellence, collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance business processes and deliver efficient automation solutions. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract aimed at improving operational efficiency and driving innovation within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct process analysis, design, and documentation to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Gather technical requirements and assess the feasibility of automating identified processes.
- Develop detailed process definition documents (PDD) and solution design documents (SDD) for automation developers.
- Collaborate with development teams to clarify requirements and participate in solution testing.
- Support change management and training for business units adopting automated solutions.
- Monitor the performance of automated processes and recommend enhancements.
Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of process analysis, mapping, design, improvement, and optimization.
- Familiarity with RPA and Low/No Code tools (e.g., UiPath, Power Platform, MS Dynamics).
- Proficiency in UiPath tools such as Automation Hub, Task Mining, Dashboards, and Insights.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in creating process documentation and workflow diagrams.
- Bachelor's degree in business, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Extensive experience in process design, process analysis, or similar roles.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Certifications in RPA tools and/or business/process analysis are highly desirable.
