Summary: The Automation Engineer role focuses on leveraging extensive automation experience within the pensions sector, specifically for Defined Contributions, to enhance testing processes. The position involves collaboration with various teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of solutions while managing risks effectively. Key Responsibilities:
- Apply extensive automation experience to lead the automation test pack creation, execution
- Build relationships with other scrum teams to understand the integration testing, possible areas of risk and regression testing required.
- Partner with peers across disciplines (Software Development, DevOps, Strategy and Architecture) to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of quality and resilient solutions.
- Supports team members across geographical locations.
- Identify key improvements continually to help drive efficiencies
- Fosters a culture where risks and issues are managed at the lowest responsible level by communicating and collaborating with team members.
- Works closely with Development, Product/Business Analysts, and other Software Engineering functions to ensure high quality on-time delivery
- Collaborate with the wider automation test teams to build and share technical expertise/capabilities/skills through the delivery of regular feedback, knowledge sharing, and coaching.
- Communication with key stakeholders and development teams on technical solutions.
- Convince and present proposals by way of high-level solutions to end users and/or stakeholders.
- High learning adaptability, demonstrating understanding of the implications of technical issues on business requirements and/or operations.
Key Skills:
- This role requires a senior engineer experienced in Python and with advanced skills in UI automated test development.
- Must be familiar with the Behaviour-Driven Development Framework
- Good understanding of automation frameworks, including understanding of test automation design
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of using the PyCharm IDE (Integrated Development Environment)
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of SDLC process
- Knowledge on SQL skills in tuning/optimization of SQL and database optimization
- Knowledge or experience of AI Testing tools or practices would be desirable but not essential.
