Summary: The Automation Engineer role in Surrey, UK, involves supporting a major Aramco project during the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase. The position requires designing advanced control systems while ensuring compliance with Aramco standards and collaborating with various stakeholders. The role is focused on delivering high-quality engineering solutions in a dynamic environment. This is a contract position with a minimum on-site requirement of four days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop control system specifications ensuring compliance with Aramco and industry standards.
- Design control system deliverables, including P&IDs and Instrument Lists.
- Collaborate with clients & vendors to define system requirements and package interfaces.
- Conduct risk assessments (SIL, LOPA, HAZOP) and prepare ICSS technical requisitions.
- Assist in creating Process Control Narratives and Cause & Effect diagrams.
- Work with electrical teams and MCC to determine I/O requirements.
- Support multi-center project execution and brownfield onshore projects.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in Automation Engineering —preferably on Aramco projects.
- Strong understanding of control system design & FEED phase execution.
- Expertise in IEC 61508 & IEC 61511 standards.
- Hands-on experience with SIL, LOPA, and HAZOP assessments.
- Ability to develop technical specifications, bid evaluations, and ICSS requisitions.
- Brownfield onshore project experience is highly desirable.
- Experience working in multi-discipline, multi-center project environments.
