Summary: The Technical Business Analyst role is based in Sydney and requires full working rights. The position involves gathering and analyzing business requirements for a major system implementation project within an established Australian Financial Services organization. The role emphasizes strong API experience and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyse, and document business requirements, translating them into user stories with acceptance criteria
  • Engage with stakeholders to elicit, validate, and prioritise requirements
  • Analyse and model business processes using various techniques such as process mapping and story mapping
  • Manage the requirements lifecycle, ensuring critical items are delivered first
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop fit-for-purpose solutions
  • Identify and manage risks and issues according to the business’ risk framework

Key Skills:

  • Business domain knowledge in superannuation or financial services
  • Proven transformation experience in Super Insurance Claims
  • Proven experience in establishing requirements and specifications for system integration (incl. via API) and single sign-on
  • Understanding of modelling techniques, such as business process models and notation (BPMN), data flow diagrams and unified modelling language (UML®), SIPOC and value stream analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in writing user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Ability to develop compelling business cases with accurate cost and effort estimations
  • Highly developed strategic, analytical, problem solving, issues management and evaluation skills
  • Ability to understand business functionality, business complexity and interdependencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including requirements gathering and process modelling
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
