Summary: The Assistant Project Manager at Urenco in Capenhurst is responsible for managing low complexity projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards. This role involves proactive risk management, stakeholder relationship building, and supporting larger projects as directed by senior management. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver low complexity projects (< 2m in lifecycle cost) through their full lifecycle.
- Coordinate project reviews and ensure timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
- Support larger projects (up to 30m) as directed by senior project managers and programme leads.
- Ensure safe and compliant delivery of all project aspects, acting as a role model.
- Communicate strategy, objectives, and benefits to all stakeholders.
- Work with Project Manager, Quality Manager, and Construction Manager to meet Quality and HSE requirements.
- Manage relationships and communications with external and internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate timely and concise project reporting in compliance with governance procedures.
- Identify potential changes affecting cost or schedule early in the project lifecycle.
- Protect and improve Urenco's commercial position through effective contracting strategies.
- Ensure knowledge retention and transfer within Urenco and conduct lessons learned reviews.
- Prepare basis of estimates for changes and coordinate timely delivery with the project team.
- Identify and manage project risks and opportunities to ensure predictable delivery outcomes.
Key Skills:
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience in regulated industry and project environments.
- Professional Project Management Qualification/Accreditation (e.g., APM PMQ or PMI PMP).
- Strong project management expertise and experience.
