Summary: My client in the North East is seeking a talented Assistant Procurement Manager for a permanent position. The role involves overseeing tenders, quotes, and contract management arrangements. The successful candidate will manage a team of procurement officers and ensure timely delivery of the work programme related to the organization's contracts. Local Authority experience is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing, supporting, training, and guiding a team of 6 procurement officers to ensure the work programme relating to the organisations contracts is delivered on time
  • Lead and participate in all stages of the tender process
  • To develop and maintain detailed intelligence about suppliers/providers and maintain good working relationships and to deliver appropriate market support training
  • To work in partnership with all stakeholders to understand business needs and design solutions

Key Skills:

  • Extensive experience in a similar role
  • Experience of working within public sector procurement legislation
  • Communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Local Authority experience is essential

Salary (Rate): £46,731 yearly

management arrangements are established.
